Sorry for the absence but I have been traveling for almost 3 weeks. I have a lot of exciting posts coming up, and to get the ball rolling I'll start by showing you the lovely town of Limburg. With just a little population of 33,000 and a little bit in the middle of nowhere in East Germany I was surprised by how busy it was.
The town is full of old buildings, cute cafes, shops and churches. First stop was St. George's Cathedral which is set on top of a hill. If you know me, you know I have a love for buildings/churches so I was so excited to see this perfect example of late Romanesque style. There was a wedding going on so I didn't get to go inside.

Then we walked through the old town and spotted some pretty interesting buildings. Also note how the second and third floors come out a few centimeters further, it's because people wanted to get as much space in their home without having to pay for more land, so with each level the floor area expands a small fraction.
(As usual, just click an image to view the full photo).
Even though I just spent one afternoon in Limburg I found it incredibly interesting and cute! There were many different shops to look in and different alley ways to walk through. I loved seeing the architecture from the 13th to 19th centuries, and I hope you enjoyed this tiny glimpse of Limburg too.
